{"id":316,"date":"2018-07-12T13:13:35","date_gmt":"2018-07-12T03:13:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dfat.com.au\/mainwebsite\/?page_id=316"},"modified":"2025-12-01T14:26:58","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T04:26:58","slug":"learning-activities","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.dfat.com.au\/mainwebsite\/current-projects\/learning-activities\/","title":{"rendered":"Learning Activities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In August 2018, the Social Activities Sub-Committee of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dfat.com.au\/mainwebsite\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"What is D\u2019FAT\">D&#8217;FAT<\/a> was re-named the Social &amp; Learning Activities Sub-Committee with the aim to&nbsp;develop social and learning activities for young people.<br>These activities have included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Robotics &amp; Programming<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/firstaustralia.org\/programs\/first-lego-league\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" title=\"FIRST LEGO League Team\">FIRST LEGO League Team<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Video Making<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since July 2018, D&#8217;FAT has been a validated public Learning Destination for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.utas.edu.au\/underwood-centre\/childrens-university-tas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" title=\"Children's University (CU) Tasmania\">Children&#8217;s University (CU) Tasmania.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Learning Destination is a place where CU participating children and young people (7 to 14 year olds) can \u2018travel\u2019 to with their Passports to Learning to participate in learning activities and experiences.<br>Passports to Learning are provided by participating schools and learning hubs in CU to the children. These passports are used by the children to record the attended activity. Once the children have reached the required number of activity hours, they will graduate from CU.
