{"id":781,"date":"2021-12-30T15:29:17","date_gmt":"2021-12-30T05:29:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dfat.com.au\/mainwebsite\/?page_id=781"},"modified":"2026-02-08T15:48:19","modified_gmt":"2026-02-08T05:48:19","slug":"membership-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.dfat.com.au\/mainwebsite\/what-is-dfat\/membership-information\/","title":{"rendered":"Membership Information"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Current Membership Application:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dfat.com.au\/mainwebsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/.._membership application_D'FAT Membership Application.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" title=\"D'FAT Membership Application\">D&#8217;FAT Membership Application<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The current annual<strong>*<\/strong> membership fee (also known as annual subscription) of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dfat.com.au\/mainwebsite\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"What is D\u2019FAT\">D&#8217;FAT<\/a> is $2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>*<\/strong>Annual membership is for the financial year (from July 1st until June 30th) per the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.legislation.tas.gov.au\/view\/html\/inforce\/current\/act-1964-064\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Associations Incorporation Act 1964<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As per&nbsp;<strong>rule 5&nbsp;<\/strong>of D\u2019FAT\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dfat.com.au\/mainwebsite\/what-is-dfat\/constitution\/\">Constitution<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A person who is nominated and approved for membership in accordance with this rule is eligible to be a member of the Association on payment of the annual subscription specified in rule 32.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A person is not to be admitted as a member of the Association if \u2013\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the person is not of the age of 12 to 25 years; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the person is not residing in the Derwent Valley Local Government Area; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the person has not been approved for membership by the Board.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As soon as practicable after the receipt of a nomination, the Public Officer is to refer the nomination to the Board.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If a nomination is approved by the Board, the Public Officer is to &#8211;\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>notify the nominee, in writing, that the nominee has been approved for membership of the Association; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>on receipt of the amount payable by the nominee as the first annual subscription, enter the nominee&#8217;s name in the register of members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As per&nbsp;<strong>rule 32&nbsp;<\/strong>of D\u2019FAT\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dfat.com.au\/mainwebsite\/what-is-dfat\/constitution\/\">Constitution<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The annual subscription, for a financial year of the Association, that is payable by members of the Association is be determined at the annual general meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Current Membership Application: The current annual* membership fee (also known as annual subscription) of D&#8217;FAT is $2. *Annual membership is for the financial year (from July 1st until June 30th) per the&nbsp;Associations Incorporation Act 1964.
